Daniel Robert Harris, 46 of Gypsum, Colorado passed away on July 2, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado after a long and fierce battle with blastomycosis. Danny was born on April 11, 1960 in Duluth, Minnesota to Donald R. Harris and Marie (Pontliana) Harris.



He was raised in Duluth graduating from East High School in 1978 then graduating from Duluth Area Vocational Institute with a degree in Horticuluture & Forestry shortly after.



Dan moved to Louisiana in 1981 where he was part of the oil field industry. He then moved to Avon, Colorado in 1983 where he worked at The Christy Lodge for a few years and then went on to create his own company called Kustom Kraft Tile where he enjoyed creating his own work for his customers.



In May of 1995 Dan married Leigh Brinckerhoff in a beautiful ceremony on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A day we will all remember. Danny lived an extraordinary & fullfilling life and touched many people. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to travel and explore. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and a good friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Danny was preceded in death by his mother in 1992.



He is survived by his wife Leigh and son Eli of Gypsum, Colo., father and stepmother Donald and Marion (Sally) Harris of Leonard, Minn., sisters, Debbie (nephew Andy Anderson of Duluth) and Dennis Vogt of Garland, Texas, Diane (niece Jennifer Scmidt of Duluth) and Jack Lindelof of Mesa, Arizona, Donna Falterman (niece Desiree' of Duluth) and Lee Christofferson and niece Danielle of Mesa, Arizona. Mother-in-law of North Dakota, brother-in-law Todd of Minneapolis, sister-in-law Beth (Robert) and nephew Jonathan of Oklahoma, brother-in-law Matt (niece Anik) of New York. And many other family and friends.

Damn good harmonica player.
